Barefoot Beach

Hello! I took my daughter(10) and her friend to the beach on Saturday. We had a blast! Very easy to spend the day at Barefoot Beach. We spent about 5 hours on the beach shelling/playing and of course- eating!  Luckily these 2 are interested in shelling!
There was a guy fishing by us- they had to see what he caught
After the beach we decided to go on the hiking trail- It was really pretty. I think it was 1 & 1/4 miles long. Now normally this would be fine- but, it was H-O-T! We did make it to the end, which was great but we weren't thinking about how we'd have to walk back!

We really enjoyed splashing around for a while before we headed back.

We were hoping this was a sno-cone stand!
We are ready to go back to the beach though! Good shelling day!!
Haven't found this many worm shells in a long time

Score!!

  1. I love love Barefoot Beach! There are lots of fossils washing up due to the dredging down at Wiggins Pass. The sandbars at low tide are the best. Looks like you ladies had a productive wormie day.

    Take good care,

    Karen

  3. I haven't been to Florida in a long time, but I remember how great a place it is for shells!

  4. You did find a lot of worm shells and some nice little pieces of coral also. I don't think I've been to this beach before, I'll have to talk to Kaybe about that and hit it the next time I'm in town.

I used to take my daughter shelling when she was young and later my granddaughter loved to go, now neither are interested. They just don't have that shelling gene that my grandmother, mother and myself possess!
